Quitting Smoking And Tobacco Use Can Stop Swollen Gums And Prevent Oral Cancer
Cigars and cigarettes contain several toxins that are associated with oral cancer. Even if smokers do not inhale the smoke, it does not decrease their risk for dental problems such as swollen gums and gum disease. More nicotine is found in dip and chew compared to cigarettes. Harmful toxins associated with dental problems and oral cancer can also be found in smokeless tobacco products. According to the dental research, at least 28-cancer-causing chemicals have been identified in smokeless tobacco products. Long term dental and overall health benefits can be provided when one quits smoking or other forms of tobacco use. Talk to your physician if you like to quit but you do not know how.
